Coda Monoboards(monoskis), Snowboards, Skis, and Topsheets

MONOBOARDS

CODA's singular carving monoboards deliver to you a fully-customized ride that can hold an edge through the deepest of carves, while our traditional pattern monoskis deliver a new level of enjoyment to more familar riding styles.  CODA carving boards feature an aggressive radius sidecut for superior edge hold, CODA's adjustable tension tail-cable innovation for the extreme of variable-flex performance, and CODA's Deep-V swallow-tail for decreased drag and a lower tail-end ride in powder.  Of course, all CODA boards include complete graphic customization printed in-house for the fastest turnaround.  With CODA your ride will be truly one-of-a-kind.

Please be sure to visit our graphics section before configuring your board.  Customize both deck and base graphics--the top and bottom of your board.  Whether you choose a finished graphic from the CODA Select gallery offerings, or choose to design your own graphic, you will need to indicate your choice during checkout.  Graphic uploads occur after completion of your purchase, or at your convenience using our graphics upload page.

Deck design modifications beyond graphics customization are possible by special order.  Want a board wider, longer, or stranger than what you see listed?  Just ask, and we'll see what we can do.  All CODA boards are individually hand-crafted after you place your order.  Some minor cosmetic blemishes do occasionally surface from this hands-on process.

Phoenix monoski PHOENIX MONOSKI

Available in gloss, matte, & textured.

Phoenix enlargePhoenix angle 2Phoenix angle 3 The Phoenix Monoski is a solid-tail mono featuring the latest in ski designs
with early tip and tail rise (mustache camber) and early tip and tail taper:

•  18 m. sidecut radius
•  185 cm. length
•  22.5 cm. wide at widest point
•  20 cm. wide at the tip
•  19.5 cm. across at the bindings
•  21.5 cm. wide at widest tail part of the tail
•  19.5 cm. across at the tail

The Pheonix is our newest model monoski and the only of its kind in the world featuring the latest design features found in the skis of most professionals.  The mustache camber with early tip and tail taper result in a ski that carves like a shorter ski on hard pack, but then performs like a long ski with rocker in softer conditions.  The camber and shape also excel in the bumps with quick turns and a tail that won’t hang up.

When built with the bamboo core, the board is stiffer and we believe more resilient in major crashes.  The 4x4 binding insert package for non-release bindings comes standard, but we will accomodate any hole pattern you need.  Check your preferred bindings and contact us if you need a different configuration.

Construction:  Horizontal laminate wood core, 22 oz triax glass, aluminum alloy, and the CODA hybrid cap/sidewall construction.  The optional bamboo wood core upgrade has a traditional sandwich construction made of vertical laminate bamboo strips with exposed bamboo sidewalls.  Metal dampening comes standard in the nose of all Coda boards.

Stormchaser monoski STORMCHASER MONOSKI

Available in gloss, matte, & textured.

Stormchaser enlargeStormchaser angle 2Stormchaser angle 3 The Stormchaser is a powder specific ski based on a time tested solid tail monoski design.  It has a traditional camber, a small tail kick, and a shovel that is bigger than almost all other monoskis on the planet:

•  18 m. sidecut radius
•  185 cm. length
•  23 cm. wide at the tip
•  18 cm. across at the waist
•  20 cm. across at the tail

The Stormchaser features the latest design characteristics found in the skis of most professional competitors.

Shrike monoski SHRIKE MONOSKI

Available in gloss, matte, & textured.

shrike enlargeshrike angle 2shrike angle 3 The Shrike Monoski an all-mounatain traditional monoski:

•  23 m. sidecut radius
•  185 cm. length
•  24 cm. wide at the tip
•  19.5 cm. across at the bindings
•  20 cm. across at the tail

The Shrike is a narrower, traditional monoski; fast, with a solid tail.

If you choose the bamboo core, it is built with a traditional sandwich construction made of vertical laminate bamboo slips with exposed bamboo sidewalls.  Metal dampening comes standard in the nose of all Coda boards.

V zero monoski V0 MONOSKI
buy phoenix
Available in gloss, matte, & textured.

V-0 angle view1V-0 angle view2V-0 with bindings The V-Zero is the original carving "Tool" that started it all:

•  10 meter sidecut radius  [ see model comparison chart ]
•  170 cm. long with an effective edge of 166 cm.
•  24.5 cm. across at the tip and tail
•  19.5 cm. across at the bindings

The V-0 is a very stable board that is quick edge to edge and has an excellent hold in all conditions.  The V-zero is probably the best board for beginners and traditional monoskiers new to carving.  The V-zero gives the quick response of a CODA carving board, while allowing for the possibility of the wash out familiar to those accustomed to old-school monoski slide technique.  It is built with extreme camber under foot for enhanced spring during carve transitions while a decambered nose helps with long, graceful carves.

However, these are just accomodations, as the V-zero design first and foremost targets high-speed, deep carving.  It performs aggressively riding bumps, chutes, and freestyle snowboard parks.  A great all mountain board.  Like all our boards, the Deep V in the tail allows the tail to sink in the powder, effectively lifting the nose and making it rock out in the deep snow as no plain tail monoski ever can.

Construction:  Horizontal laminate wood core, 22 oz triax glass, aluminum alloy, and the CODA hybrid cap/sidewall construction.  If you choose the bamboo core, it is built with a traditional sandwich construction made of vertical laminate bamboo slips with exposed bamboo sidewalls.  Metal dampening comes standard in the nose of all Coda boards.

V-0-XL monoski V0-XL MONOSKI
buy phoenix
Available in gloss, matte, & textured.

V-0-XL angle view 1V-0 angle view 2V-0-XL with bindings The V-Zero XL is a longer version of the
original carving "Tool" that started it all:

•  10 meter sidecut radius  [ see model comparison chart ]
•  185 cm. long with an effective edge of 181 cm.
•  25.5 cm. across at the tip and tail
•  19.5 cm. across at the bindings

The V-0-XL is a very stable board that is quick edge to edge and has an excellent hold in all conditions.  The advantages of the V-0-XL over the original V-0 are similar to the advantages of traditional snow ski longer lengths over shorter lengths.  For a rider with the physical build for a longer effective riding edge, the V-0-XL distributes the weight of a rider over a longer edge, for less drag and a faster ride.  Turning a longer edge, however, may be a more difficult task for a rider of slight build.

The V-zero gives the quick response of a CODA carving board, while allowing for the possibility of the wash out familiar to those accustomed to old-school monoski slide technique.  These are just accomodations, however, as the primary goal of the V-0-XL design is deep, high-speed carving. Like all our boards, the Deep V in the tail allows the tail to sink in the powder, effectively lifting the nose and making it rock out in the deep snow as no traditional tail monoski ever can.  It is built with extreme camber under foot for enhanced spring during carve transitions while a decambered nose helps with long, graceful carves.

V two ten monoski V2-10 MONOSKI
buy phoenix
Available in gloss, matte, & textured.

V-2-10 angle view 1V-2 angle view2V-2-10 with bindings The V-2-10 is a wider version of V-0:

•  2 cm. wider than the V-0
•  10 meter sidecut radius  [ see model comparison chart ]
•  170 cm. long with an effective edge of 166 cm.
•  27.5 cm. across at the tip and tail
•  21.5 cm. across at the bindings

The extra width of the V-2-10 allows for deeper carving without hitting your boots on the snow and gives extra surface area for a higher ride in powder.  The wider board does make it less quick from edge to edge than the V-0, but instead encourages long, deep carves without "booting out."
This is a carving board.  The V-2-10 is the board currently preferred by most of the CODA staff and prototype beta testers.
The V-2-10 offers the quick response of a CODA carving board, with good resistance to the wash out familiar to those accustomed to old-school monoski slide technique.  It performs aggressively riding bumps, chutes, and freestyle snowboard parks.  A great all mountain board.  Like all our boards, the Deep V in the back half allows the tail to sink in the powder, effectively lifting the nose and making it rock out in the deep snow as no plain tail monoski ever can.  It is built with extreme camber under foot for enhanced spring during carve transitions while a decambered nose helps with long, graceful carves.

Powder Monster Monoski POWDER MONSTER MONOSKI

Available in gloss, matte, & textured.

Powder Monster view 1Powder Monster view 2Powder Monster with bindings The V-Powder Monster monoboard offers the CODA deep-V design tailored especially for deep snow.

•  10 meter sidecut radius  [ see model comparison chart ]
•  185 cm. long
•  30.5 cm. across at the tip
•  29 cm. across at the tail
•  23 cm. across at the bindings

While all of the V series monoboards perform well in powder due to the deep V tail, we found that we wanted more board under us for really deep powder.  We took the tip of the prototype V-Alaska and melded it with a V3 tail.  We kept the radical sidecut and put a more aggressive shovel on it.  It is wider and longer for powder conditions.  This board has been tested in powder and hardpack and it was Awesome.

Sandwich with Cap/Sidewall hybrid.  Cores are shaped with a 45 degree chamfer and then 2mm thick strips of UHMW are attached along the sides.  This gives the sides of CODA skis and boards a unique shape that minimizes the wear and tear of side impacts while giving the strength of traditional sidewall sandwich construction.  If you choose the bamboo core, it is built with a traditional sandwich construction made of vertical laminate bamboo slips with exposed bamboo sidewalls.

DyeSublimated PBT

Two layers of 22oz triaxial fiberglass, one above and one below the wood core.  Carbon stingers can be added as a modification, by request.

Metal dampening is standard in the nose of every CODA board.  A section of perforated aluminum alloy placed between the wood core and the top layer of fiber glass enhances the dampening of the board while retaining the pop and responsiveness innate to all glass boards.

Vertically laminated birch. V0, V2, and V3 models are 3/8 inch thick under foot.  All other models are 3/8 inch think under foot.  Bamboo cores are traditionally sandwiched bamboo strips.  All cores are cut and profiled on our CNC machine.

Steel 6mm inserts that are fitted from the bottom of the cores to to provide maximum protection from pulling out.

DuraSurf UHMW-PE sintered base materials.

Steel edges that wrap around the tips and tails of all models except those with the CODA Deep V tail.
